Simple fixes without a model

A simple fix replaces a retired model id with the vendor's named replacement. No model writes it, and it needs no key.

On this page

A simple fix replaces a retired model id with the one replacement the vendor names, for example gpt-4-0613 with gpt-5.6-sol. No model writes it: Upseam changes the model id on the matched lines and runs the same patch gates as on every patch. It needs no connected model and no key.

#When it opens

By default a simple fix asks first, like every other fix: in the ask mode its pull request opens only after your approval. With Simple fixes on, it opens without a tick, in every mode, like Dependabot does for a version bump. The dashboard issue lists the pull request under Pull requests and says why no tick was needed.

A patch that fails a gate is not pushed, and the finding goes to Needs you. See Delivery modes.

#Always ask

Two cases always ask, simple fix or not: changes that a vendor sends to Upseam directly, and removals at or before your pinned API version.

#Let them open on their own

To let simple fixes open without a tick, turn on Simple fixes on the settings page, for the installation or for one repository; a repository setting overrides the installation. Installations created before this default changed (version 0.6.1) were reset to off; turn the setting on again to keep the old behavior. Simple fixes also need New capabilities on.

#Before you connect a model

Until a model is connected, Upseam writes no fixes except simple fixes. It still lists what it would fix. See Without a model.
