Terms of Service

Effective date: October 3, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Vladislav, an individual who runs Upseam ("we"). They cover the Upseam GitHub App, the setup and settings pages, the website upseam.dev with its documentation, and the upseam command-line tool (together, "Upseam"). By installing the App or using Upseam you accept these terms. If you accept them for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it.

The upseam command-line tool is also published under the MIT License. That license governs its code; these terms govern the service.

The beta

Upseam is a free beta. We charge nothing and accept no payments. Features may change, break or be removed, and the service may be interrupted or stopped at any time. If we ever introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance and they will not apply to you unless you agree to them.

Your account and repositories

You use Upseam through your GitHub account and, if you connect them, your Slack workspace and your model vendor account. You are responsible for those accounts, for the repositories you select, and for having the right to let Upseam read them. Your use of GitHub, Slack and your model vendor is also subject to their terms.

Your code stays yours

You keep all rights in your code. You give us only the permission we need to run Upseam for you: to read the selected repositories, to process them as described in the Privacy Policy, and to write to them what the App is for. Changes that Upseam or your model proposes are yours to use, change or discard.

You review what Upseam proposes

Upseam proposes changes as commits on upseam/* branches and as pull requests. A model writes these changes, and they can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe, even after Upseam's checks. You are responsible for:

  • reviewing every proposed change before you merge it;
  • your CI, which runs on upseam/* branches, possibly with your repository secrets and before anyone reviews the pull request (see the Security model);
  • choosing the auto mode, which pushes without asking you first;
  • the model vendor you choose, the key you give Upseam and what your vendor charges you.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • break the law or anyone else's rights with Upseam;
  • try to access data of other installations, or probe, overload or disrupt Upseam;
  • get around Upseam's limits or security checks;
  • use Upseam to send malicious code or spam;
  • resell Upseam or offer it as a service to others without our written permission.

We may suspend or remove access for anyone who breaks these rules or puts Upseam or other users at risk.

No warranty

Upseam is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that Upseam will find every API change, that its findings or fixes are correct, or that the service will be available or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Upseam or from changes it proposes, even if we were told they were possible. Because Upseam is free, our total liability for any claim about Upseam is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending

You can stop at any time: press Disconnect Slack on the settings page first, if you connected Slack (not available yet), then uninstall the App from your GitHub settings. What happens to your data then is described in the Privacy Policy. We may end the beta or your access at any time; when we can, we will tell you in advance. The sections on your code, no warranty, limitation of liability and governing law continue after the end.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date; for significant changes we will announce them on the website before they apply. If you keep using Upseam after a change applies, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Russia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Where the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be waived, you keep them.
